Ramblings (Procrastination)

Ive currently just finished my third Tactical Squad (minus the Sergeant) and am now working on the Devastator Squad. The only problem is that I brought some black undercoat spray the other day but it came out gritty, not covering the miniatures properly... It will go to use for another purpose (water and paintball guns).

I will be getting a Tactical squad in the near future to;
-Create my Tactical Sergeant
-Create 5 Sternguard Veterans with combi bolters (this should involve some fun conversions, because I want them to look as epic as the standard Sternguard. I have a few ideas for this which I am sure you will see)
-2 Lascannon Marines
-1 Heavy Bolter Marine
-1 Missile Launcher Marine
-1 Spare Marine with boltgun (Yes I know this adds up to 11... I have my methods...)

I will be getting some different black spray, a dice cube and some other bits and pieces as well.

Painting Shadow Blades

I cooked up a quick tutorial on painting a Shadow Blade rank and file bolter Marine. About half way through I realised tha it was meant to be a Devastator member and so the locations of the white areas changed... Anyway, here I go...

Step 1- 3
Undercoat with chaos black spray.
Paint blue sections of the armour Enchanted Blue
As messily as possible paint camo on blue sections with Regal Blue

Step 4
Paint the sections to become white with Codex Grey.

Step 5
With thin white paint coat the white areas in Skull White - to the below effect.

Step 6
Paint fine details - Red Gore in eyes, Scorched Brown satchels etc.

Step 7
Build up the red in the eyes with Blood Red and Blazing Orange before adding the Skull White.
Do the same with any purity seals.
Drubrush the satchels with Snakebite Leather.
Finally, paint squad symbol on right shoulder pad.

You have a finished Shadow Blade

Miniatures Update

I know I haven't added any pics in a while so here you are - 5 of my Sternguard Veterans - only some slight modifications and Dazreth - I'd better get my piece of fluff for him together before I completely finish painting him.
